Rotary District 6630 Vocational Training Team Project with Haiti and Akron Children’s Hospital

Northeast Ohio Rotary District 6630 and Port au Prince Haiti Rotary Club join forces to train medical professionals from Haiti’s only children’s hospital, St. Damien’s. Partnering with Gift of Life Northeast Ohio and Akron Children’s Hospital, two Haitian children received life saving heart surgeries. Akron, OH September – October 2014

In March 2015, a VTT from Akron Children’s Hospital and partner hospitals from around the county will travel to Haiti to perform the county’s first hospital based pediatric heart surgeries at St. Damien’s Pediatrics Hospital, The team will provide equipment and in-country training in a continuing effort to enable Haitian doctors and hospitals the ability to provide life-saving procedures to their own people.
