Gift of Life Child at the Central Park Zoo

With the Generosity of the Rotary Club of Newtown CT, Gift of Life Chapter 7230 and Gift of Life International, and Monica and Michael Toll of Newtown as Host Family, Genesis from Belize was given a second chance at life after her successful heart surgery at Montefiore Hospital with Dr. Sam Weinstein and his team.

The Toll family hosted Genesis and her cousin, Melanie, for 2 months and she is now a healthy 3 year old eager to move and run and play. On Friday, March 14, 2014, Fredlee Kaplan escorted Genesis, Melanie and the Tolls to the Central Park Zoo for a day of fun and adventure before their departure for Belize, coming up very soon. Genesis loves animals and there were encounters with a red panda, lots of snakes, birds, snow leopards, and sea lions. Genesis seemed to have the most fun with the penguins as they swam right up to her in their tank.
We wish Genesis and Melanie our very best as they return to their home and family eager to see then in Belize.”
